Myspace, Facebook or Twitter

There are so many different ways to "network" now a days. I have used Myspace for many years and just used it for catching up with some old friends. Myspace recently added games that you can play and some applications.

I joined Facebook sometime last year but never really used it. A few months ago I started using it more and more. I started a few Facebook pages for different companies that I have. I have also used it for my support group for my daughters rare syndrome. I have met so many different people from around the world. Facebook has became my new addiction. I have my personal family and friends on my page and have a group for my At Home Resources Website.
I personaly find Facebook to be a better social network.

Now Twitter I just started using a few months ago. Im not on there as much as the other two sites. Twitter is a site that you can just update people with a quick little message about your company, website, sales, links and much more. You can follow different people and they can follow you. I think its neat to go on there and read other people's blurps.

Social Networking is taking over. I remember a few years ago where Ryze was very popular. I used that all the time to advertise my business. I just didnt like how you had to pay to have your own groups.

Its really all up to you and how you want to network and what you want to use the networking site for. Try them all and see what works the best for you.

Adverting is the lifeline to any business

When starting a Home Business the number one most effective way to get your site or product out there is to advertise. There are a lot of people that do not know how to advertise. There are a lot of people who are not sure what methods of advertising will be effective. Advertising is just not on the internet. You can do a lot of advertising offline and locally. There are many forms of advertising. I am going to list a few. Not all are right for everyone.

~Free Advertising- Message Boards, Free Classifieds, Flyers, Business Cards, Word of Mouth, etc. This is Free and easy to do. Message Boards are a great way to meet new friends and to share your ideas with others.

~Paid Advertising- Pay a company or a website owner to place your ad on their site or a local ad in a newspaper. You can do a text ad or even a color picture ad.

~Solo Advertising- You can pay a company to send out your ad to their ?mailing list?. It is a one time mailing. Sometimes you can find them for a decent price. The length of the ad shouldn?t matter if it?s a Solo Ad. They try to fill the page up for the mailing.

~Banners/ Buttons- If you have a banner or a button already made then you can pay a company to list it on their site for the length of time that you like. If you do not have a banner or button your can always find someone to make one for you. They are cheap and easy to do. Sometimes is good to have different banners. Rotate them once in awhile.

~Plug Boards-These are new to advertising. They are a small version of a banner (88x31).

~Networking- Networking is great. It?s a great way to meet new friends. Once you build that friendship it will make you feel more comfortable in purchasing their products. There are all types of new networking places: Ryze and Myspace are just a few.

~Blogging- Consider starting a blog. It's a great way for folks to get to know you.

~Freebies- Give away Free items with your company name and your contact information on them. Pens and Pencils are a great items.

These are just a few ideas on how and where to advertise. There are all types of advertising and I?m sure I didn?t even hit most of them and I have only listed a few in this article. If you are new to advertising I suggest you take some of the online advertising courses. Some offer free online advertising courses.

Working Mom or Dad?

Have you ever really thought about becoming a work at home mom or dad? Everyone has different reasons to work from home. I know it was my dream when I had my first daughter. I researched for a while on the Internet for legit work at home opportunities. I thought I found the one opportunity that would have let me stay home with my newborn daughter. Well I ended up getting scammed thinking that I have found the best work at home business. I was crushed.

There are tons of different opportunities out there. You have to find the right one that fits you and that will grow with you. I know most of the moms and dads want to be able to stay home with their kids to watch them grow and be there for the most important moments in their life.

There are challenges when its time to work from home. I know I had to worry about the kids, house work, finding time to do the running around, and of course working the business. It can be overwhelming at some point.

The best way to go about working from home is to set goals. In order to be successful you have to follow your goals. You really have to be able to pace yourself and get used to being at home and managing business and kids. Set a schedule and follow it. It might take a bit for you and your child to get used to having a schedule but it will be worth it. Make a list of the daily errands that you have to do. It will be a lot easier to look at it on paper rather then to try and remember.

Just to summarize everything up, working from home can be very rewarding yet challenging in some ways. You must stay positive and stick to your goals and schedules. Working from home may not be for everyone, but it might be well worth it in the end.
